| Managers Interface | ||
SIDVault has built in a web managers interface. This allows you to easily
maintain SIDVault features and options. See the screen shot below for the
look of what this interface looks likes.
![]() This is the first page you see once you have logged into SIDVault manager pages. It clearly states the SYstem information including the current status of the key. The sections which follow will provide more details about each section and what you would use them for. |
| Registration | ||
| Registration of SIDVault is important, if SIDVault is not registered all external applications connections will be refuse. When you install SIDVault it will automatically activate your 30 day trial allowing you to use SIDVault for 30 days. The registration page in the managers interface provide information about your current key information as well has contact details about how to purchase SIDVault. |
| Accounts | ||
The account section of the manager interface looks like this:
![]() This is allows you to setup which that are allowed to authent to SIDVault to request or change information within it's database. The above screen shot displays the default accounts that you can use and what access they have. The 'GUEST' account has only search access of the whole database. While 'manager' and 'cn=manager,dc=example,dc=com' have full access to teh database inlcuding admin rights. Admin rights allows the user to login to the managers interface. The last one '*,dc=example,dc=com' allows users which have a matching DN within the data base and also has a password field which matches what is entered, they will allow search access from this point. It is a good idea to keep the number of accounts down, and also limit to the areas that they need access to. It's not wise to allow Guest to have full access even if you trust them. SIDVault allows not only valid DN's but non-dn based usernames to be used. Also the DN's do NOT need to exists within the database. |
| Site Stats | ||
This section is the most used, as it list all the active module,
Failed modules, IP security rules, current connections, and
also past history of the connections. This screen looks like this:
![]() The past history only lists the last 100 IP's per module, it also lists when it was lasted accessed, now many connections it has made and the amount of data sent/received. This can be useful in locating any unwanted connections, or which IP's are heavly using SIDVault and could be looked into. |
